Senior Salesforce Developer

Position Description:

JPI is looking for a Senior Salesforce developer / project manager to handle Salesforce development, testing, and production environments on a major federal government project. 


  • Provide functional knowledge of data structure and understanding of how to leverage the tool to meet complex process and reporting requirements
  • Design, develop, test, document, and deploy high quality business solutions on the (SFDC) platform based on industry best practices as well as business needs
  • Manage the process of implementing improvements and new functionality in SFDC application
  • Deliver support and solutions for break/fix issues
  • Lead technical resources in Salesforce development efforts and communicate with stakeholders regarding status, technical issues and creative solutions
  • Lead technical resources in performing ongoing Salesforce administration (create accounts / profiles, defining fields, updating layouts, reports, dashboards etc.) and development
  • Lead and support configuration tasks such as field/page updates, workflows, automated approvals
  • Manage multiple projects/priorities using proven project management methodologies and sound development practices to ensure the quality delivery of enterprise solutions
  • Monitor usage for compliance
  • Maintain security for data
  • Interface with business analysts and technical staff and be responsible for delivering complete work products
  • Implement App Exchange platforms
  • Research integration issues and lead team members on operations and development staff
  • Research and development of new prototypes and applications
  • Research and keep current on technologies and communicates trends and future needs from a business perspective
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of applications
  • Build client trust and respect, establish client relationships, and develop client rapport
  • Participate and engage in all team meetings
  • Document best practices and operational procedures
  • Facilitate continuous improvement within the environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience, of which at least three years must be specialized. Specialized experience includes developing functional requirements for complex integrated systems
  • Minimum six (+) years of industry experience as a developer
  • Knowledge and practical application of Visualforce, APEX programming, APIs, and Web Services
  • Experience with database software, Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions
  • Combination of business operations experience and analytical while also having Salesforce technical background  
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and deliver results with aggressive timelines
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communication skills, verbal and written to both technical and non-technical audiences that are in a geographically dispersed environment (conference calls, Skype, face-to-face)
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently with ability to produce high quality technical documentation and analysis
  • Develop accurate estimates on level of effort for timely project execution
  • Desire to recommend process improvements and demonstrate creative thinking
  • Take responsibility for end-to-end solution delivery for their respective tracks
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to grasp concepts  
  • Demonstrate analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Possess or ability to attain a Federal Agency clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certified Platform App Builder or Developer 1 (One) or equivalent experience is preferred  
  • Certified Salesforce Administrator or equivalent experience is preferred
