Information Technology Project Coordinator

Job Description:

JPI has an opening for a Project Coordinator with three years direct IT project management experience. This position will be working with the US Coast Guard clients to ensure enterprise IT projects are delivered on time and within budget.

​Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage project schedules in support of maintenance IT programs
  • Track and reconcile schedules using Coast Guard enterprise tools to include MS Project 2010 and Enterprise Project Management (SharePoint)
  • Attend and facilitate project status / coordination meetings to drive project execution  
  • Coordinate with C4IT organizations to disseminate upcoming task assignments and to provide task status
  • ​Update project dashboards in MS SharePoint
  • Identify and document project issues, risks, and lesson learned   
  • Map and improve complex business processes and communicating processes solutions to the client
  • Create project status briefings and reports
  • Develop project artifacts including agendas, minutes, briefings, white papers, trainings, requirements analysis, and correspondence
  • Interpret and translate DoD policies, guidance, and directives to internal stakeholders
  • Brief senior leadership on project status

Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, Project Management, or a related field experience. Relevant Master's degree / MBA is a plus
  • Management consulting experience required, with at least three years of experience in a professional environment
  • Direct experience with MS Project 2010 and MS SharePoint
  • Direct experience developing project management methodologies (processes, best practices, tools, and templates)
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively independently and in team settings to include close collaboration with program managers
  • Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven process
  • Experience in building and managing client relationships
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Visio
  • Clearance: Secret and above

Preferred additional competencies:

  • DoD, US Coast Guard, or Department of Homeland Security experience preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Exposure to Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles preferred
  • Experience developing external DoD partnerships and discover ways to align initiatives with Coast Guard
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), and Big Data Analytic capabilities
  • Exposure to the DOD Joint Information Environment
  • Top Secret Security Clearance / SCI (USCG)
