Finance Cost Modeling Consultant

Position Description:

JPI is hiring a Consultant with at least five years of experience developing Financial Cost Models and direct Project Management and or management consulting experience.  This position will be working with US Coast Guard clients to build overall financial maturity of client organization, develop Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence (C5I) systems financial cost models for large scale / multi-year Federal Acquisition programs, and accurately forecast C5I budgetary requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategies and special projects to improve financial maturity of client organization to include C5I system life cycle cost tracking, personnel support requirements, and resource proposal management 
  • Lead the development of strategic plans / program artifacts, including charters, business cases, concept of operations, communications action plans, risk management plans, agendas, minutes, briefings, and correspondence 
  • Provide recommendations for continual improvement to client organization, to include PM and Defense Enterprise Services Management Framework (DESMF) / Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices
  • Coordinating and participating in Working Group(s) and Joint Service Integrated Project Teams, consisting of US Military Services, Department of Defense (DoD), Civilian, and contractor staff
  • Facilitate project status / coordination meetings to drive project execution     
  • Identify and document project issues, risks, and lessons learned   
  • Map and improve complex business processes, and communicate process solutions to the client

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, information systems, Project Management, or a related field. Relevant Master's degree/MBA is a plus
  • Three years management consulting experience required, with at least five years of total professional experience
  • Experience building financial cost models to accurately estimate cost for large scale technical programs (multi-year C5I Federal Acquisition program experience preferred)
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively independently and in team settings, to include close collaboration with program managers 
  • Experience in building and managing client relationships
  • Direct experience developing project management methodologies (processes, best practices, tools, and templates) 
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills 
  • Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven process 
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Visio
  • Exposure to DESMF / ITIL principles preferred 
  • PMP certification desired
  • DoD or US Coast Guard experience preferred
  • Clearance: DoD Secret or above
