Job Description:

JPI has an opening for a Business Performance Analyst with 0-5 years business performance consulting experience or commensurate education. This position will work closely with clients to develop and mature metrics capabilities for planning, projection, and management of assets and logistics in a military support environment. This work requires frequent interactions with clients (both local and geographically dispersed) and internal and external stakeholders in order to result in development and execution of lasting, effective solutions. Work products and associated capabilities include: performance projections, early detection of problems, impact assessment, root-cause analysis, total asset visibility, development and alignment of metrics with strategic initiatives, and supporting process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and analyzing business and IT service performance metrics and related work products such as Metrics Plans, Process Guides, Performance Reports
  • Determining and executing best means to integrate / compile data from disparate systems of record, including development of scripting and coding as needed to facilitate data extraction / analysis
  • Developing and automating visual displays of information, including online balanced scorecards, dashboards, and other reports
  • Developing and maturing metrics capabilities for asset and logistics performance management, including (but not limited to) requirements gathering, automating data extraction and compilation, effectively displaying visual information, supporting root-cause analysis, and alignment with organizational strategic initiatives
  • Supporting metrics implementation efforts and development of corresponding project management artifacts
  • Supporting continual process / service improvement initiatives (CPI/CSI), including problem identification and definition, process mapping and analysis, analysis of solution alternatives, process reengineering / future-state process implementation, development of control / contingency plans, supporting CPI training, and facilitating CPI events and projects
  • Retrieving data from various US Government databases and assembling / conditioning datasets for analysis using Microsoft Excel, Minitab Statistical Software, and other software suites as needed
  • Providing meeting support services, including planning, coordination, scheduling, agendas, minutes, facilitation, presentation, and follow-up activities
  • Identifying strategies for automating and implementing efficient work management processes
  • Creating project status briefings and reports
  • Developing project artifacts including charters, agendas, minutes, and correspondence
  • Communicating process solutions to clients
  • Additional activities include participating in program management working sessions and supporting program managers in executing day-to-day project management activities

Minimum Requirements

  • PMP Desired ; Green Belt certification desired
  • Bachelor's degree in business, industrial engineering, or a related field is required. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Certified Analytics Professional is a plus
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio
  • Significant proficiency in Microsoft Excel with emphasis on formula writing and scripting macros and or VBA is a plus)
  • Proficiency using systems for monitoring and analyzing organizational or project-level performance metrics, including COGNOS and Minitab Statistical Software (We don’t do this?)
  • Experience with and authoritative knowledge of developing, implementing, and effectively communicating organizational and project-level performance metrics
  • Solution-oriented thinking and discipline
  • Knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Experience using Microsoft Project 2010, Microsoft Project Server 2010, and Microsoft Project Web Access
  • Understanding project management methodologies (processes, best practices, tools, and templates)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively, both independently and in team settings, to include close collaboration with program managers
  • Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
  • Experience in building and managing client relationships
  • Hands-on experience supporting large, complex programs and program management offices
  • Travel: 25%
  • Clearance: Eligibility for DoD Secret or above
