Secure Collaboration for an Open World
JPI developed the Project Information Portal (PIP) for the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Public Building Service over ten years ago. Through its evolution, user access requests had become more cumbersome as the data contained in the PIP expanded to include many sensitive but unclassified documents. To address more strict access, a paper process was put in place to vet users.
To expedite and monitor the process, JPI developed a paperless Automated User Request System (AURS). AURS allows users to directly link from the PIP to an electronic form which a user can sign with a secure, electronic ID for submission. The system automatically routes the form through the tiers of approval while generating emails to alert each person to approve the request and digitally sign the form while tracking all approvals and changes to the form.
AURS allows users to directly link from the PIP to an electronic form which a user can sign with a secure, electronic ID for submission.
The process is contained within a secure database allowing the PIP Help Desk, which is staffed by JPI, to track and report on all users. AURS has significantly decreased the time and effort taken to grant access to the PIP and streamlined the annual recertification effort.
