JPI is a certified Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) contractor. The HUBZone program encourages economic development in historically underutilized business zones by establishing contracting preferences to benefit those small businesses who meet the criteria. The Blacksburg main office is located within a HUBZone in southwestern Virginia. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) regulates the program and maintains a list of qualified HUBzone small businesses which Federal agencies can use to locate contractors such as JPI.
