  • Project Manager Full Time in Norfolk, VA

    JPI is seeking a Project Manager with five to seven years management consulting experience and five years direct project management experience. This position will be working with US Coast Guard clients on site in Norfolk, VA to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

    Position requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems or a related field. MBA is a plus. PMP certification desired.
    • US Coast Guard experience strongly desired
    • Experience with metrics and performance management
    • Self-starter with the ability to work effectively independently and in team settings to include close collaboration with  program managers
    • Understanding of developing project management methodologies (processes, best practices, tools, and templates)
    • Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven process
    • Experience building and managing client relationships
    • Software: Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Visio, MS Project 2010, MS Project Server 2010, MS Project Web Access
    • Exposure to SEI CMM principles preferred
    • Clearance: DoD Secret or above

    General responsibilities:

    • Leading and facilitating client meetings and exercises
    • Creating Project Management-related strategies/action plans and development/maintenance of integrated master schedules
    • Identifying strategies for automating and implementing efficient work management processes
    • Mapping complex business processes and communicating processes solutions to the client
    • Creating project status briefings and reports
    • Developing project artifacts including charters, agendas, minutes, and correspondence
    • Additional activities include participating in program management working sessions and supporting program managers in executing day-to-day project management activities

  • Project Manager with Strategic Communications Experience Full Time in Washington, DC

    JPI has an opportunity for a Project Manager with a strategic communications background and 8+ years experience. This position will work with US Coast Guard clients and a JPI team consisting of software developers and engineers, analysts, and Project/Program Managers to ensure IT projects are delivered on time and within budget.

    Responsibilities for this position include:

    •  Execute existing internal communications strategies and action plans supporting C4ISR projects
    • Develop ad hoc communications deliverables, including but not limited to talking points, fact sheets, strategic plans, briefing books, newsletters, online content, internal announcements, and brochures
    • Coordinate with strategic planning and implementation teams
    • Create project status briefings and reports
    • Lead and facilitate client meetings and exercises
    • Develop project artifacts including agendas, minutes, correspondence, process guides and business workflows
    • Participate in program management working sessions and support of program managers in executing day-to-day project management activities


    Qualfications for the position include:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field; MBA or MA preferred.
    • Strong substantive writing experience and a portfolio of products developed in prior positions
    • Experience in strategic planning, product development, and management consulting
    • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
    • Client-based consulting experience (REQUIRED)
    • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work effectively independently and in team settings
    • Proven ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven process
    • Hands-on experience supporting large complex programs and supporting program management offices

  • Project Managers Full Time in Washington, DC

    Note: These positions are based in Alexandria, Virginia.

    JPI is seeking two (2) Project Managers at the following experience levels:

    • Eight to fifteen+ years of management consulting experience and seven+ years direct PM experience
    • Five to seven years of management consulting experience and three years direct PM experience
    These positions will work with US Coast Guard clients on site in Alexandria, VA and a JPI team consisting of software developers and engineers, analysts, and other Project and Program Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. 
     
    Qualifications include Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or a related field; PMP certification is desired and an MBA is a plus. We are seeking candidates with deep or working knowledge of USCG modernization efforts and mission support model. Software proficiencies should include: MS Project 2010, Project Server 2010, and Project Web Access, as well as Microsoft Office Suite and Visio. Exposure to SEI CMM principles in preferred. As this position requires communication with ranking military personnel, experience with military branches and government agencies is desirable. Additionally the candidate must be clearable to DoD Secret clearance or above.
     
    Responsibilities for these positions include:
    • Creation of Project Management-related strategies or action plans: application of Project Management methodologies (processes, best practices, tools, and templates) and the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
    • Development and maintenance of integrated master schedules and work breakdown structures
    • Development of ConOps, Process Guides, and project artifacts including charters, agendas, minutes, and correspondence
    • Leading and facilitating client meetings and exercises, including mapping and communicating complex business processes to the client and providing status briefings and reports
    • Support of software implementation efforts, participation in Program Management working sessions, and support of day-to-day PM activities including pending introduction of a MS-based Project Management Information System (PMIS)
